Stop Feeling Pain Over Divorce Forgive Yourself: Does This Describe You?

Do you wish the words “stop feeling pain over divorce forgive yourself” could be more than just words, but become a reality?  No doubt, divorce is painful.  The days heading up to the divorce and the ones that follow the divorce can cause us intense pain and play havoc with our emotions.

This is doubly true for those of us who messed up and are now suffering the consequences of our actions.  The important thing to remember is that you are not alone.  We all make mistakes … and yes often the results of these mistakes carry heartbreaking consequences.

If you have placed yourself on a pedestal thinking that you have to be perfect and there is no forgiveness for what you done, then think again.  None of us can get through life without forgiveness playing a role in our life.

Sometimes we need to open our heart up to forgiveness and forgive others.  At other times, it will be us who will need to seek forgiveness.  Then perhaps one of the most challenging times will be, when we will need to forgive ourselves.

We cannot force someone else to forgive us.  However, we can accept the fact that we messed up and realize we are not perfect.  Beating yourself up over what has been done and cannot be changed, will only make things worse.

Take responsibility for what you did and then seek forgiveness.  If forgiveness is given then this is wonderful.  However this will not always be the case.  Regardless of whether you receive forgiveness from others realize that it is OK to forgive yourself.  Then remember to take what you learned in making your mistakes and use it as a life lesson.

When you have done this, do not permit yourself to rehash the past.  Keep yourself busy, embrace your friends, do some fun stuff, and be sure to eat right and exercise.  After a while the words “stop feeling pain over divorce forgive yourself” will become a reality.

Be Encouraged,

Chelsey
