Getting Your Ex Back – Mistakes Often Have Hurtful Consequences

When this happens, our decision making process is impacted. Often we then say and do things that are in the moment driven by these raw emotions, without thinking about the impact or consequences.

1. You are constantly trying to plead with your ex. Some people use different methods of communicating: emailing, texting and phoning. However, the same constant applies to all methods, you are continually trying to get your ex back with desperate begging, pleading or arguing. The fact is, an ex normally views this as badgering and it only adds salt to the wound already existing.
2. You plan your day around trying to run into your ex. You are forever visiting your ex’s favorite hangout spots, doing your grocery shopping across town near where your ex lives and you are continually driving by your ex’s residence. This type of behavior will likely be viewed as stalking by your ex, which is never well received. You both need time apart in order to heal.
3. You indulge in alcohol to help you feel better and braver. Alcohol lowers inhibitions, which makes it easier for people to talk. However, often the words that come out of our mouths after a few drinks are not wise words, but regretful ones. Indulging in alcohol never helps any problem; in fact, it often worsens situations. It certainly will not help you to feel better. The fact is you will end up feeling worse. A drunk is never appealing to anyone. This is certainly not the way you want your ex to view you, when pursuing how to get your ex back.
4. You are not taking care of yourself. Missing work or school, consuming loads of junk food, watching non-stop mindless TV and avoiding others are just a few bad lifestyle choices that people often undertake after a breakup. Bad lifestyle choices often lead to depression. Focus on engaging in wholesome healthy lifestyle pursuits, such as exercising each day, eating properly and embracing the support of your family and friends. This will help to strengthen you emotionally, mentally and physically, which will help you tremendously in getting your ex back.
